Based on the reefers built by
the General American Car Company for the Cudahy Packing Co. in
1925, these 36' reefers are similar to thousands of cars that
transported meat, dairy, beer and food products well into the
1960s. The cars feature separately applied door hardware, grab
irons, ladders and stirrups, AccuMate knuckle couplers and
opening doors and hatches. Truss rods and two styles of ice
hatches are applied as appropriate for each Roadname. Like the
prototypes, the cars feature colorful period schemes.
